WHAT MATTER IS MADE UP OF

VOCABULARY:

Element : a basic buildblock of matter, a pure substance that cannot be broken down into anything simpler.
this is the periodic table:

Compound: a chemical combination of two or more elements into a single substance.
sulfur is an example of  compound.

Atom: the smallest unit of an element that still has the properties of the element.
all matter is made up of atoms.


Proton : particle with a possitive charge in the nucleus of an atom.
this is a positive charges that is name proton:

Neutron: a uncharge  particle in the nucleus of an atom.
here we are going to see a neutron:

Eletron: a particle with a negative charge  moving around the nucleus of an atom.
like in this picture:

Nucleus: the dense center part of an atom.
here you can see it:

Molecule: a group of more than one atom joined together that acts like single particle.
they a re joined.
